Nigeria ZIP Code: Not 234, Correct Numbers You Should Use

Many people thinks that 234 is Nigeria’s ZIP code but the correct numbers are 110001, 23401 and 00176. This is because ZIP code is different from international dialing code which is 234 for Nigeria.

ZIP (Zone Improvement Plan) codes apply ONLY to the United States. The US does not regard postal codes from other countries as “ZIP” codes. Although, other countries uses postal codes but ZIP codes in the United States are used for the same purposes for which other countries use postal codes which is basically for mailing purposes.

I’m writing this post to correct many people’s thoughts so that they can avoid the mistakes of filling the wrong numbers as ZIP codes.

In other words, United State of America calles it ZIP code while other countries calls it postal codes including Nigeria.

Most times, online and offline forms including jobs, visa and ID cards applications requires you enter Nigeria’s ZIP code, so just use any of these codes 110001, 23401, 00176 and everything will go successfully without rejection.
